A Momentary Diversion on the Road to the Grave

A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying Nothing

After a long overnight drive, finally in San Francisco. Walkin’ around Haight-Ashbury with coffee while my companions sleep the drive off.

I’m gonna give everything I can to make a trip to Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s (one of my favorite poets) City Lights Bookstore today. I went a few years ago and fell in love. I must return, even if just to admire its beatnik kitsch. That, and they publish one of my favorite graphic novelists, Paul Madonna, whose work is pictured above from his fantastic book, All Over Coffee.

I’m pretty enamored with this city. Been lookin’ into UCSF School of Medicine for a while now…oh the possibilities…
